Medical Malpractice

Medical malpractice occurs when a health care provider's treatment of a patient departs from a standard of care generally recognized by others in his or her profession, and the treatment results in harm to the patient. It may include errors in diagnosis, treatment or care. It applies not only to doctors, but also to nurses, dentists, health care facilities, nursing homes and others who provide health care services.
